President Putin Gets Covid-19 Vaccine
I was listening to CRI (China Radio International) programme, “The World Today” and the Covid-19 Russian vaccine issue was being discussed. Putin and his Daughter have taken the vaccine.
The Daughter’s Temperature after 1 day reached 38 degrees C. On the second day, it dropped to 37.5 Degrees C. Now her temperature is just normal and according to Putin, the vaccine should create immunity lasting last 2 years.
Russia (Ex Soviet Union) has a lot of capability to produce vaccines. They were part of a race to produce Biological Weapons so the capability is not in doubt. Unfortunately World opinion is shaped by the West. Everything is looked at in geopolitical terms.
One comment I heard is: If it was a Chinese company or Russian company that had manufactured Boeing 737Max, that would be the end of the aeronautical industry in that country. But not Boeing.
For example, Russia produced Ilyushin 96 that is just like Airbus A340 but everybody in the world is convinced that Russian products are not safe.
Other than Russia, it’s only Cuba (Cubana) that operates IL 96 and has even ordered more. Their safety record is perfect. Putin’s Presidential jet is IL96. It’s price is 30% less of Boeing 777.
The only vehicle for going to space had been Russian Soyuz for the last 8 years. In 40 years, Soyuz has had three accidents and in all cases the Cosmonauts/Astronauts survived as the safety devices worked perfectly. Compare with how many Astronauts died with Shuttle Missions in the same period. You would think Space X has just made a breakthrough going to Space.
The same Western Press is dismissing the Russian Vaccine. It’s not a Science that Russians do not know about. I will be the first to take the Russian vaccine if it came to Kenya.
